Scuba Diving in Lanzarote with www.godiving.org

Most of the scuba diving in Lanzarote is from the old fishing village of Puerto del Carmen. Here there is a choice of a sheltered bay for beach entry and exit along with a pier to start your dive from. Boat diving on the Los Erizos wrecks in the harbour entrance is also available but is slightly deeper, usually going beyond the 18m / 20m mark.

Further north in Lanzarote, the Lava formations of Mala provide plenty of excellent scuba diving opportunites from a rocky cove shared with nudists! Visited by Angel sharks and large shoals of fish, this area is a quiet treat, not visited as frequently as Carmen, but is more open to the elements and so not always diveable. But a range of caves and a good amount of aquatic life make it a worthwhile trip.

In southern Lanzarote, Playa Blanca provides excellent scuba diving opportunites over white sands with plenty of fish and rays sheltering around the rocks.

Aquatic visitors to Lanzarote include Angel Sharks and large rays. Plenty of other fish are encountered when diving in Lanzarote and the lava formations make an interesting difference.

Most schools will issue 5mm wet suits throughout the year, but these may feel a little cold in the winter. Hoods and gloves will help.
