Scuba Diving in Turks and Caicos with www.godiving.org
Providenciales - The most developed island group of the area. Diving is off-shore at various locations. French Cay has possibly the best diving in the area with pelagics from turtles to sharks about. Sting rays and shark spotting are options on some dives.
West Caicos has an exciting channel to dive in with regular sightings of sharks, mantras and eagle rays.
Grand Turk - With a reef only just off shore for quick boat trips and the Columbus National Park with permanently buoyed sites. These sites offer excellent visibility, coral and sponge formations. The Amphitheatre, named after the semi circle of sand in an indentation in the reef wall, is a good place to see rays, whilst there are tunnels in other sections of the wall. Deeper out to sea, you might spot incomming mantas, eagle rays, barracuda or even humpback whales, dependent on the season.
Salt Cay - More wall dives, with places to see nurse sharks and conch. One of the few wrecks in the area is here - the HMS Endymion - an early steamship equiped with cannon and anchors.
Providenciales, Grand Turk and Salt Cay can be dived from shore or liveaboards.
